Sir Alf...

D O F...needed...

Strategy for long term...mix of own Academy ...Buy young foreigners with potential...

Extensive International scouting netwirk

Track young domestic players...for eventual purchase..

Build a team from defence forward...

No random...risky Sullivan punts...

Extreme getting re Medical History of players...

Plan for appropriate upgrades of older players....succession planning...

If Academy system is not yielding benefits...close it...

Must work closely with manager in place...but The Strategy must be followed except in special circumstances...joint approval but DOT has priority...

Sullivan is involved...but not in charge...

Re: Schneiderlin to Toffees
Regardless of whether he is a success or not what is clear is that West Ham will not be a regular shopper in the 20 million + market unlike Everton, Spurs and the top 4. Oh and Palace.

We made our one foray with Ayew, in a last minute panic buy to appease the supporters, and it will go to support Sullivan's preconceived notion that anything north of 10 million is "inflated prices".

We have a high net spend because we cannot sell anyone for actual money but its yet more evidence that we will not progress with our current owners and will remain in a holding pattern where we have one season of promise followed by 2 or 3 or more of underachievement and the odd relegation. In the words of David Byrne "same as it ever was" :-(

the part of me that likes silly stuff regrets the brake up of the Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger midfield

Probably got less to do with money, and more to do with not wanting to join a fucking shambles.

Could be that they offer the the right money, unlike us always bidding low with no intention to buy.

What is it with Everton and Sunderland always buying up the Man United rejects

It's hardly a miss if Bilic doesn't want him and we need a RB, CB and a coupe of strikers more than a DM surely?

Another one missed.

Re: Schneiderlin to Toffees
This is the same person who wanted Valencia on loan. Schneiderlin showed he wasn't worth what Man U paid for him, so why almost match that price to bring him to Everton? Can't say I envy the toffees on this one...

although I might if our owners can't pull their thumbs out their arse this window.

Re: Schneiderlin to Toffees...
Whatever our opinion of him, it shows that their ambition is at a different level than ours. Despite having a comparable/lower income, they are willing to invest. They've also shelled out £10 million on young Lookman from Charlton last week.

Conclusion: We are run by tight, inept cunts.

Re: Schneiderlin to Toffees
I think everyone goes a bit overboard on this lad. Decent player no doubt, but it's the fee Man Utd paid for him that everyone seems to rate him for, they're not a great time by any stretch, and he can't even get a look in.

Price looks way OTT to me.
